At ΞΆΓάΘ¦ College, education is a key part of prevention. Our Office of Equity, Title IX, and Inclusion (EOTIX) provides resources that help students, faculty, and staff build a campus culture rooted in respect, safety, and accountability.

Advisory Council on Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct:

The mission of the Advisory Council on Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct (ACSGBM) is to address sexual and gender-based misconduct through creating and coordinating policies, procedures and programming for prevention and response, which reflect an expectation of effective consent, respect and safety for all members of the ΞΆΓάΘ¦ community. The ACSGBM is a collaborative group of community members who are charged with advising the president and his cabinet on the college’s policies, procedures and services related to sexual and gender-based misconduct. Annual reports on the progress of the council will be delivered to the president at the close of each academic year. Specifically, the ACSGBM will work to:

  • Create a positive community culture that promotes respectful interactions and safety for all.
  • Promote awareness in the ΞΆΓάΘ¦ College community about issues related to sexual violence.
  • Review ΞΆΓάȦ’s sexual and gender-based misconduct policy, procedures and services to ensure compliance.
  • Make updates and amendments to the sexual and gender-based misconduct policy as necessary.
  • Identify and implement educational opportunities and resources to educate the ΞΆΓάΘ¦ community about issues related to sexual violence and ΞΆΓάȦ’s related policies, procedures and services.
  • Identify and implement training for the members of the Advisory Council, Sexual and Gender-Based
  • Misconduct Hearing Board, sexual and gender-based misconduct advisors and sexual and gender-based misconduct investigators.

Title IX Statement: 
ΞΆΓάΘ¦ College is committed to providing a learning, working and living environment that reflects and promotes personal integrity, civility and mutual respect. Members of the ΞΆΓάΘ¦ community have the right to be free from all forms of abuse, assault, harassment and coercive conduct, including sexual and gender-based misconduct, as defined in this policy. ΞΆΓάΘ¦ College considers sexual and gender-based misconduct to be one of the most serious violations of the values and standards of the college. Unwelcome sexual contact of any form is a violation of students’ personal integrity and their right to a safe environment and therefore violates ΞΆΓάȦ’s values. ΞΆΓάΘ¦ College will not tolerate sexual or gender-based misconduct in any form. Sexual and gender-based misconduct is also prohibited by federal regulations. In accordance with Title IX, ΞΆΓάΘ¦ College does not discriminate on the basis of sex in any of its programs and activities.

Title IX Reporting Resposibilities:
ΞΆΓάΘ¦ College faculty are committed to supporting our students and upholding gender equity laws as outlined by Title IX. Therefore if a student chooses to confide in a member of ΞΆΓάȦ’s faculty or staff regarding an issue of sexual or gender-based misconduct, that faculty or staff member is obligated to tell ΞΆΓάȦ’s Title IX coordinator. The Title IX coordinator will assist the student in connecting with all possible resources for support and reporting both on and off campus.
