The Nancy Beth Rautenberg Award
Is given to a graduating senior who has combined commitment to the study of Sociology with active community involvement
2026 Stella Evonne Brown
Stella is a Sociology and Gender Studies double major whose reliability, thoroughness, and warmth contributes greatly to our department. Stella leads with diligence, genuine intellectual engagement, and attention to detail. As a Peer Academic Coach, she took extraordinary initiative to see that students in our required statistics course felt supported and preparedβ€”learning new software, meeting with students one-on-one, and running study sessions. She also interviewed people in Detroit about police surveillance as part of a two-year collaborative research project.
