Julia “Julie” A. Rivette
Julia “Julie” A. Rivette, a dedicated member of Ȧ’s housekeeping team who took pride in her work, especially her work with students, died on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at her home in Corinth. She was 74.
Julie joined Ȧ in 2000 and served the College as a housekeeper until her retirement in summer 2014.
“Julie was a friendly and dedicated employee and a valued part of the Ȧ housekeeping team,” said Suzanne Coonradt, co-manager of housekeeping and Julie’s supervisor. “She took pride in her work, and those of us who worked with her remember her as a reliable colleague who cared about doing a good job and could always be found reading during her breaks. She worked in Wilmarth Hall and really enjoyed working with students. She was here for the students as we all are.”
Born Aug. 15, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, she married Edward W. Rivette Jr. in 1986.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Teresa Hudson (Jerry), Anita Bingle (Joe Payne), John McCormick (Sherl), and Charlene Walters; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Gary Ford and Donna Coleman; her brother-in-law, Kevin M. Rivette; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
