During its May meetings, the Board of Trustees reviewed progress on the 2025–2030 Strategic Plan and advanced academic, financial, and other strategic priorities. Trustees discussed planning and fundraising, faculty promotions and tenure appointments, the 2027 budget, residence hall renovation planning, and other initiatives. The Board also adopted the College’s land acknowledgement statement and celebrated retiring trustees, faculty, and staff, as well as the Class of 2026. Pride Stories Collaborative LGBTQIA+ Storytelling  

In collaboration with Saratoga Pride, the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation, SUNY Empire State University, and the Saratoga Springs Public Library, ΢Ȧ will host , an LGBTQIA+ storytelling event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at the Spring Street Gallery. Share a story or meaningful item celebrating local LGBTQIA+ history and community. 

 

Saratoga Springs’ fifth annual Juneteenth celebration 

Community partners Frederick Allen Elks Lodge Foundation and MLK Saratoga will host from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 19, at the Saratoga Regional YMCA. The free public event features community tabling, artisan vendors, family activities, music, poetry, interpretive dance, and a cultural celebration program centered on the theme “Messages of Freedom.” Highlights include remarks from Nell Stokes, who will share reflections on her civil rights journey, as well as performances by Linda Mitchell’s Community Voices of Praise Choir, vocalist Nick Payton, spoken word artist Poetyk Vision, interpretive dancer Donna Boykin, visual artist and poet Marcus Kwame, and poet and Abenaki elder Joseph Bruchac.

 

Siren/SUNs test 

There will be a Siren/SUNs systems test at approximately 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23. Individuals on campus — particularly those who are outdoors — will hear the siren, and everyone should receive a text message. Those who do not receive a text message should contact Campus Safety for further assistance. 

 

Open office hours to discuss the DOF/VPAA search

The search committee for the next dean of the faculty and vice president for academic affairs is seeking input from the ΢Ȧ community as the search process begins. Community members are invited to share priorities and perspectives with the search firm during summer listening sessions. Please refer to Hope Casto’s June 16 email for information about available meeting times and sign-up details. Additional opportunities for input will be offered during the fall semester. 

 

Zankel introduces SSO for ΢Ȧ tickets 

Zankel Music Center now offers Single Sign-On (SSO) for Zankel-presented events. ΢Ȧ students, faculty, and staff can sign in with their ΢Ȧ credentials to access free or discounted tickets when available. Visit Zankel’s event listings and look for the Single Sign-On option when reserving tickets.

 

΢Ȧ at the Tri-City ValleyCats 

The Live More is offering discounted tickets to a special event with the Tri-City ValleyCats on Tuesday, July 7. Before the game, ΢Ȧ faculty, staff, alumni, and their families are invited to a private ΢Ȧ picnic from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, featuring barbecue chicken, burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, Caesar salad, soda, and water. President Conner will throw the first pitch at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.  

Planned power outage ‌  

Facilities Services will conduct a campuswide planned power outage for high-voltage maintenance from 6 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 20. Contact facilities@skidmore.edu with questions.  

 

Pop-up grill is back  

The pop-up grill is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer outside Burgess Café. The menu includes burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and more. A combo meal is $8.49 and includes a choice of two sides and a drink. 

 

SPAC ΢Ȧ employee discount‌

΢Ȧ employees can receive 20% off tickets to Saratoga Jazz Festival (June 27–28), New York City Ballet (July 8–11), and Philadelphia Orchestra (August 5–8) performances this summer using the promo code SKIDMORE. The discount applies only to regular-priced tickets, and some exclusions may apply. A special $19.66 lawn ticket promotion is also available for Ballet and Orchestra performances. Summer Bulletin publication schedule

Through Aug. 20, Bulletin will be distributed only to faculty and staff, as well as students who remain on campus during the summer. It will also continue to be posted online. To submit announcements and events, please complete the online submission form. The deadline for all submissions is noon on Monday. Faculty-staff achievements are not published over the summer.
